Use of original software to be promoted in enterprises - Guangdong - News Brief

With Government offices all using original software the next step is to promote its use in enterprises in Guangzhou. The principle aim of this activity is to assure that original software is in all large-scale enterprises first (especially state-owned ones) then to enlist the medium and small privately-owned enterprises and those owned by foreigners.

In case of violations the owners/principals will have to undertake the civil liabilities according to the law. It is said that a Hong Kong enterprise with 4,000 employees was sued last year for using pirated software.
