The US-based Brady Corporation, one of the world's leading providers of identification solutions that help companies improve productivity, performance, safety and security, on Friday launched a manufacturing plant in Dongguan, in South China's Guangdong Province.
The Dongguan factory, Brady's eighth manufacturing plant in China, was initiated as a result of the company's robust performance, and growing market demand in China.
"There is a huge market demand in China, especially in the south. So we will invest more in the region after the opening of this new factory," said Zhou Weixin, managing director of Brady's North Asia Corporation.
The company's sales revenue in South China accounts for half of its total in the Chinese market, which was nearly $100 million last year, Zhou said.
Brady first entered the Chinese market in 1999, with a manufacturing plant in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu Province. The company later established its Chinese headquarter and a logistic centre in Shanghai.
With a registered capital of about $3 million, the Dongguan plant is expected to have an annual production value of about 720 million yuan ($92.3 million), Zhou said.
With the opening of this plant and more nation-wide technological services and sales centres, some of which have already been set up over the last few years, the company is expected to reach sales of about $200 million this year.
