2010 is a grand year for Guanzhou, for the 9th China Arts Festival will be held here, besides the 16th Asian Games. This good news was announced by Chen Jianhua, standing member of Guangzhou's Municipal Committee of the CPC and Director of Publicity Department at the Tea Party for the Spring Festival of Guangzhou Literary and Art Circles held on February 13, 2007.

It has been learned that the China Arts Festival, conceived in 1987, is the state level arts festival which is the highest standard and largest in scale is held every three years (originally held every two years).

Chen Jianhua also noted that the branch center of the Guangzhou Mass Art Centers and the branch library of the Guangzhou Children's Library located in Haizhu District will be open to the public this year. And the Guangzhou Literary and Art Creation Center will be completed in May of this year.
