The 5th Session of the 10th Guangdong People's Congress will open on February 2nd, at the newly built Baiyun International Conference Center. Delegations from all around the province arrived in Guangzhou yesterday (Jan. 31st).

On the afternoon of Jan. 31st, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Provincial People's Congress Mr. Zhong Qiquan announced at the news conference that 8 agendas would be discussed and members of the Standing Committee of the 10th GD People's Congress would be elected during the 6.5-day session.

The 100-seat public gallery of the congress will be open to the general public. Now, the name list of these citizens has been confirmed and includes 66 men and 34 women from all walks of life. At the same time, 23 consulate officials from 20 consulates in Guangzhou are also invited to attend the congress.

The Agenda of the 5th Session of the 10th GD People's Congress:

1, Hear and discuss the Work Report of Provincial Government.

2. Check the implementation of the Provincial Economy and Social Development Plan of 2006, the 2007 Plan Draft and approve the Economy and Social Development Plan of 2007.

3. Check the implementation of the Budget Plan of 2006, the Budget Plan draft of 2007 and approve the Budget Plan draft of 2007.

4. Hear and discuss the Work Report of the Standing Committee of Provincial People's Congress.

5. Hear and discuss the Work Report of Provincial Supreme People's Court.

6. Hear and discuss the Work Report of Provincial People's Procurator.

7. Discuss the proposal on abolition of the Supervision Regulation of All-level Standing Committee of Guangdong People's Congress.

8. Elect new members.
