The 9th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology was held at the Pazhou Complex from December 28 to 30. On December 29, the Convention Office announced that more than 2,800 project negotiations were made between enterprises and overseas Chinese scholars on December 18 and 19, among which over 800 involved electronics & information technologies and over 480 involved biomedicine technologies. 

A new area of 430,000 square meters is being constructed by the Guangzhou Entrepreneur Park for Overseas Chinese Scholar, and RMB 100,000 to 300,000 will be offered to scholars who want to start their business. Also, a special team is being established to help them carry out research & development and receive access to the equipment and facilities of 75 universities. 

49 of the "Pioneering Competition for Overseas Chinese Scholars" projects will be conducted in the Park. The director of the park said that 90% of the people in the park have masters degrees, and 370 have doctorate degrees from overseas universities.

According to a related survey, many overseas Chinese scholars have decided to establish their careers in Guangzhou after attending the Conventions in previous years.

Among the over 130 parks for overseas Chinese scholars in China, the Guangzhou Entrepreneur Park is the best operated & most up to date.
