Auto parts import grows steadily

Lei Yu, director of the Guangxi Business Association in Guangdong Province, has recently led a 30-member delegation for a visit to the Yanghe Industrial Development Zone in Liuzhou.

After the visit, Lei highly praised efforts by the zone's administrative committee for its rapid development since its establishment three years ago.

He said that he would introduce the zone's investment environment to Guangdong-based enterprises, in a bid to promote potential investment co-operation between Guangdong and Guangxi.

The zone's administrative authorities have strengthened efforts to revamp public services.

Two more bus lines have been put into operation from the urban centre of Liuzhou to Yanghe Industrial Development Zone, providing easy access for people living and doing business in the zone in the urban areas.

After joint efforts by the zone's administrative committee and the local transportation authority, bus lines No 82 and No 34 were newly added to the zone's public transportation system in July.

Workshops in the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) development park, which is located in the Yanghe Industrial Development Zone, are being leased to domestic and overseas SMEs that are investing in Liuzhou.

Construction of the park's first two phases has been completed, with investment totalling nearly 87 million yuan (US$11 million).

On another aspect, tax revenue in the Yanghe Industrial Development Zone totalled 19.5 million yuan (US$2.4 million) in the first half of this year, an increase of 107 per cent over the same period of last year, sources with the zone's administrative authority said.

The zone's taxation bureau has also pledged to work out a series of preferential policies in taxation for foreign-funded enterprises.
