A businessman surnamed Zhong sparked controversy in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Guangdong Province, by offering up to 150,000 yuan (US$18,975) to a woman willing to help him deliver a child.
In his online advertisement, Zhong, 40, said he would accept either intercourse or artificial insemination as a means to conceive the child.
He limited candidates to those who are at least secondary special school graduates and have good looks. Zhong said his wife suffers from sterility.
Many local residents said Zhong had violated Chinese morals. Some others, however, said it was Zhong's own business unless he had violated laws and regulations.
