An intelligent traffic management and supervision system was formally launched in Guangzhou yesterday (September 25).
This center, which cost 210 million yuan and took 5 years to build, is the most advanced traffic control center in south China.
It will substantially increase the coverage of the electronic traffic observation network from 50% to 90%. Located in Tianhe district, the center is equipped with a huge electronic map, monitoring the real-time road situation.
Emergency situations such as traffic jams and accidents will be immediately displayed on the map and responsible departments will take quick steps to handle the situations.
