The government of Guangdong province will award 2 million RMB annually to the individual who has made outstanding contribution to Guangdong's advancement of science and technology, said Governor Huang Huahua in a working meeting on innovation ability enhancement yesterday (Sept. 12). 

As one of the province's policies to encourage and support self-innovation initiatives, the Outstanding Contribution of Science and Technology Award will have two winners annually, each will be awarded 2 million RMB.

Besides, the province will promote the cooperation between enterprises, universities and research institutes in the technological innovation. The funds to scientific research will exceed 200 million RMB next year. And the annual allocations will be no less than 300 million RMB during 2008- 2010.
