The Xinzao to Huangge section of Metro line 4 will be opened by the end of the year. On August 16, the No. 8 flyover, the first of four flyovers being assembled from box sections and beams on Line 4, was completed.

It is reported that construction of the No. 8 flyover, which began in March 2005, presented the greatest challenges of the four flyover projects. The project is located at the crossing section of Dongyong and Huangge Townships in Nansha District, and is almost 2.2 kilometers long.

The section beams cross 220,000 volt and 500,000 volt high voltage electricity lines in three places; and, to avoid the danger of touching the high voltage lines,a special section beam laying machine was used for the first time in domestic history.
