From July 15th, the visitors to Chenjiaci Temple are lucky enough to enjoy the style and features of representative handicrafts all over the world, incl. the porcelain dish with blue flowers from the Netherlands, the bird shape pot from Malaysia, the glass plate from Australia, the fishing boat sculpture of Malta, the small brass trumpet from Austria, and the lacquer wares from Vietnam.... The development process of the non-governmental friendship career of Guangdong Province with foreign countries can be understood from these gifts sent to Guangdong by the friends of various countries.

These handicrafts are the exhibits at the "ouvenir Exhibition of 50th Anniversary of Guangdong Province Non-governmental Friendship Exchanges with Foreign Countries" which are part of the trophies sent to Guangdong Province People' Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in the half century by the goodwill organizations and individuals of various countries in the world at the goodwill exchanges.  The souvenirs are absolutely of great art and admiration, showing completely the deep dignity of the oriental Buddhism, ancient mystery of the Arabian cultures, the delicacy of the Japanese folk art, the original enthusiasm of the African jungles, the excellent European handwork skills, the straightforward and uninhibited characters of the American continent, and the purity and honesty of the Pacific island countries.

At the exhibition, the correspondent saw the delicate exhibits one by one.  And, the one with unique meaning was the embroidery sent by the Sri Lanka friends.

The embroidery technology was exported to Sri Lanka by the merchant people via the ancient "ilk Road"of China.  Being mixed with the local characteristics, it has become one of the traditional folk process technologies of Sri Lanka.  It is quite significant that the embroidery is now sent here to Guangdong.
