Guangzhou Metro apologizes for rush hour interruption

Due to signaling malfunctions, Guangzhou Metro Line One ran its trains at a low speed during the rush hour yesterday morning (July 11). Nearly 10,000 commuters were affected by the delay.

At 8:45 in the morning, Line One started broadcasting an emergency message saying that due to signaling malfunctions the trains will be delayed. The broadcast suggested that passengers in a hurry should change to other means of transportation.

The trains on Line One were running at a limited speed of 25 kilometers per hour. Some passenger complained because it usually takes about 10 minutes to get to their destinations, however, it took more than 40 minutes yesterday morning.

By 9:55 am, Line One had resumed its regular service. Yesterday afternoon, Guangzhou Metro released an apology to passengers affected by the delay.
