You can now complete your China Southern Airlines check-in procedure at home or in the office using the airline's website. It is quick and simple: choose a front, window or aisle seat and print your boarding pass, go through the normal security check at the airport and board the plane.
On July 6, China's first self-check-in service was launched on China Southern's website, freeing passengers from a wait in front of check-in counters.
The service is currently limited to members of China Southern Airline's Sky Pearl Club who have purchased e-tickets for some flights from Guangzhou to Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Changsha.
Online checked-in passengers who do not need to check in baggage may arrive at the departure gate 30 minutes before the departure time; those with bags to check in will need to arrive one hour before their departure time.
The online check-in service is available from five to two hours before departure time and passengers can change their boarding information up to three times. The service time is expected to be expanded after the system has been trialed and any necessary improvements made.
You can check out the service by visiting www.cs-air.com - click the "Online Check-in Procedures - input your Sky Pearl card number or ID number and log in - confirm your flight information - choose a seat by yourself or let the system do it for you - print your boarding pass - go to the airport, pass through the security check and board the plane.
