American "Dream Team" To play Exhibition Games in GZ - Guangdong - News Brief

Guangzhou Sports Administration announced yesterday that the American "Dream Team" is expected to visit Guangzhou this August 7 and 8. The Dream team is expected to participate in two warm up matches while in Guangzhou.

The games are a warm-up before they compete in the World Championship and will be the first "Dream Team" games to ever be played in Asia. When asked why NBA picked Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Sports Administration said that Guangzhou has a central location in the Pearl River Delta, adjacent to Southeast Asia. The NBA hopes that the event can attract audiences from those regions.

Guangzhou will not be charge a fee for the teams' appearance here; instead Guangzhou will cover the teams' Guangzhou trip documentary production cost. Tickets for the competition range from 380 yuan to 10,000 yuan. In addition to Guangzhou, tickets will also be sold in Hong Kong and Macao. An on-line service will also be launched to sell tickets.
