In the afternoon of June 6, Stephane Rambaud- Measson, CEO of World Railway and Subway Branch of Bombardier Inc. and Zhang Jianwei, its CEO and Chief Representative in China handed the key to the 1000th train specially made for China to Lu Guanglin, the General Manager of Guangzhou Metro Corporation at the Chisha Station of Metro Line 2.
The train was made by Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicles Co. Ltd., and will operate on Metro Line 2. With the extra train, it is expected that on June 28, Metro Line 2 may shorten once again the running interval with up to one train per 3 minutes and 45 seconds during peak hours.
Our reporters observed that the new train was an updated version of the existing trains running on Metro Line 2. There is a dynamic flashing e-map above each door and emergency service systems.
The 1000 trains made by Bombardier Inc. for China are now running in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hong Kong respectively.
