Guangzhou took measures to cope with the large electricity demand beginning yesterday (May 8), the first work day after the May Day Holidays.
The resumption of operation in factories and the hot weather are the main attributers to the power consumption growth.
According to an official with the Guangzhou Economic Commission, August and September are expected to be the peak power consumption period for Guangzhou. The official said Guangzhou can basically ensure a normal power supply and the power shortage won't be higher than last year.
