The Second China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) will organize 23 State-level forums from May 16 to 21.
The main forum, 2006 China International Cultural Industry Forum on May 18-19, will feature 14 speakers, including five State-level officials -- Ding Wei, assistant for Culture Minister, Du Baichuan, vice general engineer of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Liu Binjie, vice director of General Administration of Press and Publication, Lei Yulan, vice governor of Guangdong Province, and Yan Xiaopei, Shenzhen vice mayor.
The forum will focus on the culture trade between China's mainland and other countries and regions.
Participants can exchange views with officials and other speakers on the future of the international cultural trade.
The other nine speakers include professors from China's top universities and executives from international companies such as Time Warner.
The transcripts of the speeches will be published after the forum.
The other forums include the International Publication Industry Forum on May 18-19, Cooperation in Animation and Cartoon between Shenzhen and Hong Kong on May 18, Development of Digital TV on May 18 and the China (Shenzhen) International Design Summit on May 20.
Speakers at the forums include Patrick Harshman, president and CEO of U.S. company Harmonic, Glen Hardin, Time Warner Cable's director of digital video services, and Professor Peter Zec, a Red Dot prizewinner.
