The Guangdong Provincial Industry and Commerce Department on Tuesday announced a hotline and an e-mail address for the public to report cases of commercial bribery and corruption, the Southern Metropolis Daily said yesterday.

People are encouraged to report such cases by calling 020-8751-2315 or 8558-7217 or e-mailing zhilisyhl@gdgs.gov.cn, the Daily quoted a department official as saying. The unnamed official said the agency had set aside a special fund to reward those providing genuine reports.

The announcement came as the government agency begins cracking down on irregularities in the construction industry, land rentals, the property trade and government procurement. The department said it has launched a province-wide campaign to fight misconduct from this month till the end of the year.
