Foshan's Shunde district, the mid-southern part of Guangdong, announced last Friday (April 7th) that it has confirmed the 16th Chinese Chef Festival rundown.
The festival will be held in October and features a stewed soup that will begin cooking at the opening ceremony, and be finished cooking at the closing ceremony. The one pot of soup is expected to feed 1,000 people. The soup is expected to be served to visitors until the end of the festival. During the festival, 2,000 top grade chefs from around the country will compete against each other showcasing their most creative dishes.
The winners will be awarded the uppermost honor among China's cook-offs, the Chinese Gold Chef Award. In addition, the chefs will perform their cooking stunts and auctions will be put on for charity purpose.
