Guangzhou ranks first in China in citizen's consuming capacity for information technology, and every 100 households in the city own 91 computers, released in a Guangzhou municipal informatization working conference.
A recent survey shows that urban residents' average spending in transportation and communication hit 2492.4 yuan last year. The online trade volume totaled 65.2 billion yuan, accounting for 13 per cent of the city's GDP last year.
It is also reported that Guangzhou will add 1 million pieces of Yangcheng transportation IC cards, and the card holders will be provided extra service in fields such as social insurance, medical insurance and public sanitation.
