The Tianhe Software Park will be built within 3 years. This news was released when delegates of the People's Congress of Guangzhou paid a visit to the Nansha Port, the Science Town and the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center in the city.

So far the Park has raised RMB1.4 billion in funds to be used for its infrastructure construction. A number of famous enterprises including Ericcson, Nokia, Motorola, Siemens and Huawei have signed an agreement of intent to settle in the Park. The government is now speeding up the Park's construction, aiming to build it within 3 years.

The refinery project to be built by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and China is expected to settle in Nansha, Guangzhou. The total investment of the project is estimated to amount to USD 5 billion. If agreement is reached, the project will become the biggest joint venture in China. It is planned to be built and put into production by 2010.
