A family in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province has become something of a tourist attraction after the family's dog gave birth to 17 puppies last week. It took more than 15 hours for the dog to deliver the puppies.
The dog was imported from Russia, and this was the first time it had given birth. The owner said he was employing help to look after the puppies, and was spending extra money to ensure the mother had plenty of milk and meat to nourish her young.
Experts said it was rare for a dog to give birth to more than four or five puppies at a time.
