Guangdong Province, one of China's economic powerhouses, last year continued to lead the nation in terms of export for 20 years in a row.
Latest statistics provided by the provincial statistical bureau said the province exported US$230 billion worth of commodities in 2005, accounting for 31.3 percent of the nation's total.
The province has improved its export structure, with the proportion of export by general trade keeping rising.
The export value of mechanical and electronic products amounted to US$164.42 billion in the past year, a year-on-year rise of 26.7 percent, which made up 69 percent of the provincial export total or 1.3 percentage points more than the previous year.
