The Second China Convention of the Exhibition Economy International Cooperation Forum was held yesterday (Jan 12th). Government officers, industry experts and scholars were invited to give presentations regarding China's economy, and its relationship with convention and exhibition industry development.

Guangzhou vice-mayor Chen Mingde commented at the forum that, "The convention and the exhibition industry will be developed as one of the key industries in Guangzhou's 11th five-year plan from 2006 to 2010."

Guangzhou is witnessing rapid development in the convention and exhibition industry. The annual export and import volume of Guangzhou's Canton fair accounts for one third of the national total.
