Guangdong accounts for 30 percents of China's foreign trade with a recorded US$4.28 billion in foreign trade volume last year, marking that the province still have the largest share of China's foreign trade in 2005.
Statistics from State and Provincial Customs showed that the province's exports stood at US$238.16 billion in 2005, up 24.3 per cent on the previous year; its import volume hit US$189.82 billion, up 14.7 per cent on the year before. And the province's trade surplus in 2005 reached US$48.34 billion, US$22.35 billion more than the previous year.
Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhongshan are the top five cities in Guangdong province in foreign trade volume.
Hong Kong, Untied States, EU, Japan and ASEAN remain five largest trade partners of Guangdong province.
Customs statistics said the foreign trade volume of private enterprises in Guangdong reached US$64.52 billion, accounting 23.8 % of the contribution to the growth of province's foreign trade.
