A Chinese Kungfu V.S. Karate competition kicks off today (Dec. 23rd) at Guangzhou’s Tianhe Sports Stadium. Guangzhou citizens will have a chance to witness whether Chinese Kungfu can beat off Karate. Karate is a self-defense art that originates from Japan.

Sharp blows and kicks are administered to the opponents’ pressure-sensitive points on their bodies. In addition to Chinese Kungfu competitors, all karate competitors, representing Russia, have won International Championship Gold medals. A total of ten competitors have arrived in Guangzhou to attend the competition that is divided into 70, 75, 80, 85 and 90 kilograms classes. The competition also attracted one of the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bodyguards to compete against Chinese Kungfu competitors.
