It is expected that Guangzhou will launch a Karaoke intellectual property protection system, which is designed to protect the intellectual property rights of video and DVD products played in Karaoke clubs. Once the system is installed, consumers will have to pay fees, which will be charged according to the number of songs that they sing. This move indicates the end of free Karaoke video and DVD products consumption era. However, a relevant department official said, Guangzhou Government will allow Karaoke clubs to decide for themselves if they want to use the Karaoke intellectual property protection system.
