Shenzhen has grown into the biggest public security product export base in China, as 70 percent of the products exported from the country are manufactured by local companies, said Li Feng, chief of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, at the opening ceremony of the 10th China Public Security Expo yesterday.
Shenzhen has also developed a robust public security industry, with the revenue reaching 30 billion yuan (US$3.7 billion) last year, said Li.
The China Public Security Expo, which is held in Shenzhen every two years, is one of the biggest public security exhibitions in the world. It presents the latest products in the safety and public security sectors.
More than 730 companies from 26 countries are attending the expo this year. Products on display relate to police equipment, anti-terrorism, family security and transport security.
A public security forum will also be held during the expo. Experts from China and abroad will give speeches on public security, security management and security technology. The expo will be open till Friday.
