According to information with Guangzhou Foreign Economic and Trade Bureau, Guangzhou received more than 3.2 billion USD in foreign investment last year.
This figure is 25% more than in 2003 making Guangzhou, Guandong's foreign investment capitol. Director of the Bureau Xiao Zhenyu stated at a work conference that, the strategy to lure more foreign investors centered around opening up more industries, and regions to foreign investment, as well as relaxing investment policies making it easier to invest in the province.
