Deqing county of Zhaoqing city, east Guangdong, is said to yield over 50,000 tons of mardarin oranges this year, with an output value 200 mln yuan.

Guangdong, though suffering months-long drought, sees growths of 1.3% and 1.1% in provincial arable land and grain yield respectively. A 30%-odd growth of the rice price leads to an increase of farmers' income.

It is reported that this year's early farming rotation excited the farmers with a series of record-breaking data: arable hand totaled 12.33 million mu, with rice output of 0.92 million tons, and vegetable output 10.42 million tons. The output of this rotation accounts for 17% of the year's total.
