The Forestry Administration of Guangdong Province said on Sept. 6 that it will take measures to protect and better manage wetlands in Guangdong. The administration said it would draw up a plan for wetland protection and establish a joint conference system to instruct and coordinate the wetlands protection work in Guangdong.

Meanwhile, to better carry out wetland protection, the Guangdong government is also going to have the departments of forestry, ocean and fisheries, environmental protection and water resources inspect the wetland protection situation in Guangdong. Guangdong has total wetlands covering 1.8 million-hectares.
