Guangdong Huilai Shibeishan 100,000kw Wind Power Station start construction recently and the project will complete in 2006, reveals Guangdong Meteorological Bureau.
This wind power station will install 200 wind turbines, and its power generating capacity will reach national-high 100,000kw, sufficient to serve at lest 10,000 families simultaneously.
The power station is to put in use next year, for the wind turbines could start generating electricity once being installed. The overall construction will finish in 2006.
At present, Guangdong's three wind stations in Nan'ao, Huilai and Shanwei have attracting investments from home and abroad, and play a vital role in power supply in island and remote offshore regions.
Guangdong is a region of rich wind energy, but at present this resource have not been fully utilized. Exploring this natural resource will, to some extend, ease Guangdong's power shortage, and this green power could make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the province.
