300 economists converge in Guangzhou

The two-day 2014 International Academic Symposium of the Chinese Economists Society opened on the morning of June 14 at Guangzhou's Jinan University. Ren Qiliang, deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and Zhao Yufang, Vice Governor of Guangdong, addressed the symposium.

Themed on "China's Economic Reforms, Transformation and Sustainable Development", the symposium drew more than 3,000 renowned economic experts and scholars as well as enterprise representatives, including two Nobel Prize winners - James Mirrlees, professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Finn Kydland, professor of University of California, Santa Barbara.
