New railway schedule to take effect in SZ

Shenzhen railway stations will add trains to Jishou in western Hunan, Qingdao and Shanghai, according to China’s new railway schedule, which will take effect in July.

Shenzhen Railway Station will operate trains K9088 to Jishou, K1688 to Qingdao, K562 to Fuyang and K9256 to Shaoguan.

Train K9088, which departs from Shenzhen at 4:05 p.m. and arrives at Jishou the next day, will pass near many tourism attractions as it goes through Chenzhou, Hengyang, Changsha, Zhangjiajie and Changde. K1688 will leave Shenzhen at 10:50 a.m. and arrive at Qingdao at 9:54 p.m. the next day, about 34 hours later.

Shenzhen East Railway Station will upgrade K1516 to Shanghai to T106, cutting the trip by 6 hours and 16 minutes from the original 17 hours and 39 minutes.

The high-speed trains G1132 and 1128 to Wuhan will depart from Shenzhen North Railway Station instead of Guangzhou South Railway Station. The total number of high-speed trains departing from Shenzhen will increase to 11.

The terminal of five trains will be extended to Shenzhen starting from July: the terminal of trains 1234/1233 between Nanning and Guangzhou will be extended to Shenzhen East Railway Station and will be upgraded to an express train — K1234/1/4/1 and K1232/3/2/3; the terminal of trains K835/8 and K837/6 between Guangzhou and Chongqing will be extended to Shenzhen West Railway Station and will be renamed K835/8/5 K836/7/6; the terminal of trains K1206/7 K1208/5 between Kunming and Guangzhou will be extended to Shenzhen East Railway Station and be renamed K1206/7/6/7 and K1208/5/8/5; and the terminal of trains K730/1 K732/29 between Ganzhou in Jiangxi and Datong in Shanxi will be extended to Shenzhen West Railway Station and be renamed K731/0/1 and K732/29/32, the operator, Guangzhou Railway Group Corp., said recently.

The operators will also add a pair of trains K1092/3, K1094/1 between Shenzhen East Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station.

In the new schedule, China Railway Corp will add 60 pairs of trains.

The high-speed rail between Beijing and Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou will be home to more than 100 pairs of trains.

The railway corp. arranges 82 lines for door-to-door direct cargo services. Three pairs of direct cargo trains will operate between Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen for cargo that was purchased online.

Aside from that, between July 1 to Aug. 31 the corp. will add 10 pairs of high-speed trains between Guangzhou South and Shenzhen North — G6211, G6221, G6229 and G6243 from Guangzhou South to Shenzhen North plus G6206, G6212, G6218, G6224 and G6242 from Shenzhen North to Guangzhou South.
