Guangdong International Charity Sale raises donation for children

The 2nd Guangdong International Charity Sale raised over 400,000 RMB (about 65,000 USD) on Nov.30 for migrant workers’ children or the left-behind children.

30 consulates in Guangzhou participated in this year’s event in Guangzhou Baiyun Wanda Plaza and many consul generals even helped promoting the products in their booths personally, according to the stuff from Foreign Affairs Office, People’s government of Guangdong Province.

People are geting free flag-painting in the England booth.

Featured products form 30 countries like wine, clothes, food, crafts have been on sale in the 60 booths put in the square before Wanda Plaza in Guangzhou. Many of the products were selling at a lower price for charity.

“We have brought 120 bottles of Malbec today,” said the stuff from Argentina’s booth. “They are sold 380 RMB each originally, but for the children, we just sold 100 RMB here.”

Besides, there was a charitable auction in the afternoon on this year’s event. Objects including the football shirt with Real Madrid Spain all-star autograph and the autographed jersey from Chelsea’s Frank Lampard were on bid. And the classic watch from Oris was sold in the highest price of 6,900 RMB (about 1,131 USD) in the auction.

Fu Lang,Director General of GDFAO, is watching a Lingnan-styled handicraft before the booth.

“The successful organization of the Guangdong International Sale will keep extending a helping hand to migrant workers’ children or the left-behind children with a change in their living and education environment.” said Fu Lang, Director General of GDFAO.

The Office held the first charity sale last year, with the purpose to raise donation for helping the disabled children in Guangdong to improve their living condition.
