At the Preparation Meeting for 2012 Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships on April 23, the emblem and the mascot (Lele) of the championships were unveiled.

According to the sources, the championships will be held in Guangzhou from November 8 to November 14, when there will be more than 100 choirs from 40 countries to participate in the event. It will be the largest cultural event following the Asian Games, the Asian Para Games, and the ninth China Art Festival held in Guangzhou. The organizer has planned an activity of "singing and taking a night cruise on Pearl River" every night during the championships to enhance the cultural atmosphere of the festive event.
