Guangdong provincial GDP exceeds 1.27 trillion Yuan in the first ten month this year and is estimated to hit 2 trillion Yuan in 2006, says Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong province, on December 7th.
Huang says Guangdong province keeps a sound and fast development at present, and it has a brilliant foreground.
The provincial GDP is 18.5 billion Yuan in 1978, and it climbed to over 1.27 trillion Yuan in the first ten month this year.
With the present development pace, the annual GDP this year is expected to hit 1.6 trillion Yuan, hitting the target of "Tenth Five-Year Plan" one year ahead of schedule, and the provincial GDP will reach 2 trillion Yuan in 2006.
Guangdong has set a target to double the 2000 per capita GDP by 2010 (about 3450 USD) and to quadruple the figure by 2020 (about 7000 USD), and to build up an overall well-off society. Guangdong province is confident to realize the aim.
