The Guangzhou Medicine Supervision Bureau announced on November 25th that the number of Guangzhou drugstores with the GSP certification is increasing.
The GSP is China's medical quality regulation standard for companies who sell medicine. According to the regulation, if a company doesn't pass GSP standards within a certain period of time, the company's medical business license will be withdrawn.
Through November 18, 16 of Guangzhou's 19 pharmaceutical chain companies had obtained the GSP certificate, accounting for 84.2 percent. 62.5 percent of the county-level retail drugstores in Guangzhou that needed to pass the test within this year also obtained the certificate.
