According to Guangdong Statistics Bureau, Guangdong's Consumer Price Index in July went up by 4 per cent over the same period last year, with Consumer Goods Price up 5 per cent and Services Price up 1 per cent.
It reached a highest level over the same period in five years, mainly due to the price hikes in fuel, staple food, tour expense, and some construction materials. As the consumer prices fluctuated, the prices of meat, poultry, eggs and vegetable still went up, while the prices of aquatic products and fruits went down.
