Guangxi has been always appreciating Guangdong's help in its social and economic construction. At present Guangxi is experiencing rapid economic development, and is willing to conduct more cooperation with Guangdong enterprises.
Since 1996, Guangzhou and Dongguan has donated 440 million to their sister cities, Baise and Hechi, Guangxi, building 226 schools for 22,000 students. In the same time, these two provinces contracted 1,421 projects, involving 15.54 bln yuan.
In 2003, Guangdong has input 13 billion yuan in 226 projects signed with Guangxi, indicating many Guangdong enterprises are transferring their big projects to Guangxi. This transferring will promote the optimization of source allocation and the integration of the two provinces.
Besides, Guangxi, bordering Vietnam, will play an important role in Guangdong enterprises' entering ASEAN free trade zone markets.
Yulin-Guigang Corridor
Guangxi is to construct a new economic belt across the province from east to west, with Yulin and Guigang as its flagship cities.
The economic belt, named Yulin-Guigang corridor is traditionally an agricultural area with fertile earth. Affected by Pearl River Delta economic radiation, the industrial segments here has taken shape, and a communication network, including highways, railways and waterways, connecting Guangxi with Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the east and with southwest China in the west, has been well-developed.
Guigang city
Guigang port's annual cargo throughput exceeds 8 million tons last year and is estimated to increase to 10 million tons this year. It becomes the biggest inland port of west China connecting southeast China with Pearl River Delta.
Guiguang at present is building itself to be a regional center of transportation, logistics and economy. It plans to upgrade its industry, town planning, transportation, tourism, new agriculture and eco-environment in the coming five years.
The city is to conduct the second and the third session of port construction, together with to promote the development of logistic park, stocking area and foreign trade sectors.
Yulin city
Yulin adopts the policies to promote industrialization, urbanization and industrialization of agricultural sectors. In the same time, Yulin is exerting efforts in infrastructure construction in a bid to attracts Southeast China's enterprises and foreign investors.
