On May 26th, Guangzhou's Haizhu District reports one new confirmed case of COVID-19 (Ms. Song, 17 years old) from the screening at the district's fever clinics. She is the niece and one of the close contacts of the confirmed case (Ms. Song, 74 years old) found in Guangzhou on the same day.

The newly-confirmed case: Ms. Song, 17 years old, lives in the Yiju St., Nanzhou Mingyuan Community, Ruibao Street (瑞宝街南洲名苑小区怡居街), and is studying at the Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College (Binjiang Zhong Road, Haizhu District).
According to the epidemiological investigation, Ms. Song usually takes public transportation to school and has not been to high-risk areas within 14 days. On May 22nd, Ms. Song (74 years old) visited her niece's family (Yiju Street, Nanzhoumingyuan Community) and they had a meal together with another 4 relatives.
Currently, 50 close contacts of Ms. Song (17 years old) have been initially investigated, and 46 nucleic acid test samples had been collected. Ms. Song has been transferred to the Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment.
The authority of Haizhu District requests residents who live in and around the Yiju Street, Nanzhoumingyuan Community, Ruibao Street (瑞宝街南洲名苑小区怡居街), students and staff members of Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College to take a nucleic acid test at a nearby medical institutions.
Before the issue of nucleic acid test result, citizens in the above areas are requested to stay home and not to participate in gathering activities temporarily.
Guangzhou's Liwan to conduct full coverage of nucleic acid test
According to a notice of Liwan District's authority on the afternoon of May 26th, the district decided to launch full coverage of nucleic acid tests for its registered population and temporary residents from May 26th to May 27th.
The nucleic acid testing sites will be established based on the community (residential committee) needs, to have full coverage of each resident. They are requesting residents to proactively finish the tests at designated sites under instructions.
