Flights

Due to bad weather, a number of flights were cancelled or delayed across Guangdong, causing disruptions for air travelers at several major airports.

As of 6:40pm, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport operated 745 flights on May 4th, including 391 outbound flights and 354 inbound. On that day, 158 flights were canceled, and 81 outbound flights were delayed for 4 hours or less.

As of 7:10pm, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport reported that over 260 flights were delayed, and about 70 flights were canceled.

Given that Guangdong has entered the thunderstorm season, airports remind passengers to pay close attention to weather and flight conditions, and call airport or airlines for more detailed information of your flights before travel.

Self-observation after travel

According to the health recommendations for the May Day holidays issued by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), citizens should have a 14-day self-observation after returning from a trip.

They must take precautions to prevent infecting others. If there are symptoms of COVID-19, people should seek medical advice in time and inform doctors of their travel history.

It is suggested to go to a doctor in the event you get a fever, abnormal body temperature, diarrhea or feel extremely tired.
