The Forum on Guangdong-MNCs Cooperation and Development during the 14th Five-year Plan & Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreements Signing Ceremony was successfully held in Guangzhou on March 2nd.

37 multinational projects with a total investment of 300 billion RMB were signed into on the Forum, including 12 from Hong Kong and Macao SARs, 15 from Europe and America, 5 from Japan and South Korea, and 5 from ASEAN countries.

Various fields are covered, such as, green petrochemicals, new energy vehicles (NEV), new-generation electronic and information technology (EIT), modern agriculture and food production, bio-medicine and health, new energy resources, cutting-age new materials, and other Guangdong strategic industrial clusters.

The projects were signed by foreign representatives with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, and local officials from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Foshan, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Zhanjiang and Yangjiang.

During the 14th Five-year Plan period, some major foreign-invested companies and projects will be assisted with bank loans up to 800 billion RMB. 8 local banks have pledged their support, which are branches of China Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications as well as China Merchants Bank.

In addition, the Russia-China Greater Bay Area Fund will also give aid to some projects with equity capital. The fund aims to strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties, promote the expansion of Russian companies in Guangdong and support Guangdong enterprises “Going out” to Russia.
