According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics on January 18, the per capita disposable income of Guangdong reached 41029 yuan in 2020. People’s wage income accounts for two-thirds of their disposable income.

According to the report, the per capita disposable income of urban residents reached 50,257 yuan, an increase of 4.4% over last year. The per capita disposable income of rural residents, particularly in remote regions of the province increased by 7% over the last 12 months but remained low at only 2,143 yuan.

From the perspective of income sources, salary has become the main source of residents' income. The per capita salary of Guangdong residents is 27825 yuan, accounting for 67.8% of disposable income. The per capita net property income was 5339 yuan, an increase of 11.8%, accounting for 13% of disposable income.

In terms of consumption, the per capita consumption expenditure of Guangdong residents has reached 28,492 yuan in 2020, a decrease of 1.7% from last year. Among them, the growth rates of food and housing consumption were 2.8% and 5.5% respectively. Despite a small increase in CPI, the consumption of daily necessities and services was basically the same as last year.

In addition, in 2020, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Guangdong residents increased by 2.6% over last year. And, despite initial losses caused by the pandemic, Guangdong's Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (PPI) dropped by just 1% from last year.
