On January 14th, Dongguan reported 1 new asymptomatic case. The patient is related to the Hong Kong truck driver who tested positive when crossing the border through Huanggang Port in Shenzhen to a paper factory in Dongguan on January 11th.

The 51-year-old female, who works in the paper factory as an accountant, was identified as a close contact immediately after the driver was confirmed as an asymptomatic case.
She was tested negative on the evening of January 11th when receiving centralized isolation and medical observation. She was retested on January 13th.
Dongguan Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the result was positive on the morning of January 14th. And She was transferred to Dongguan Ninth People's Hospital for observation and treatment right away.
The locations she visited between January 10th and January 11th include the convenience store of the paper factory, a store near new Shuguang kindergarten (曙光幼儿园附近护理店), Xincheng market (新城市场), a canteen of Dengwu committee (邓屋管理区村委会食堂), two restaurants on Wenming Street (味多鲜汤粉店、玉姐私房菜) and a drugstore nearby, a wholesale store near Shishuikou Market (德利厨具百货批发部).
According to the preliminary epidemiological investigation, she has had 33 close contacts, 32 of which are under centralized isolation and medical observation. A total of 23,472 people were tested on January 12th. All the results are negative.
Shenzhen takes actions to avoid more imported cases
Shenzhen has removed 64 truck drivers from the exemption list due to the recently reported imported cases. In addition, the exemption qualifications of 164 drivers have been suspended.
Shenzhen is also employing a centralized supervisory warehouse to curb the risk of COVID-19 infections from imported cold-chain foods.

Updates on COVID-19 cases in Guangdong
On January 15th, Guangdong reported 3 new cases of imported confirmed infection and 4 new asymptomatic cases. Three confirmed cases, reported by Guangzhou, came from the United States, Ghana, and Maldives. And four asymptomatic cases, reported by Guangzhou, Foshan, and Qingyuan, came from India, Malaysia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Niger.
As of midnight yesterday, Guangdong has reported a total of 2084 cases, including 688 imported cases.
