Since December 24th, a new security check-in area with 24 channels debuted in Area A of Terminal 1 of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The upgraded security area is enlarged and equipped with smart devices that offer efficient services for passengers.

The new area will have a total of 28 security channels ( four are still under construction), with 10 channels for domestic flights, 10 for international flights, 2 for backing channels and 6 are flexible channels.

The new channels are built according to the ‘Security facilities of civil transportation airport’ issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Security clearance will be safer and more efficient with the help of new X-ray machines and a face recognition system.

With more comfortable services, the improved channels are estimated to increase the inspection speed by 15%. As of 4 pm, December 24th, 9,000 passengers have passed through the new channels in good order.
