On December 21st, Wen Guohui, the Mayor of Guangzhou, China, Phil Goff, the Mayor of Auckland, New Zealand, and Eric Garcetti, the Mayor of Los Angeles, the United States, signed a memorandum of cooperation for the tripartite economic association among the three cities. It means that the three cities will start their third round of cooperation from 2020 to 2022.
Guangzhou, Auckland and Los Angeles signed the first memorandum of cooperation in November 2014 to establish the "Guangzhou-Auckland-Los Angeles Tri-City Economic Alliance". So far, the three cities have carried out two rounds of cooperation. It has made great achievements in the fields of economy and trade, culture, education and urban planning. The third round of cooperation will promote exchanges between the three cities and promote international cooperation.
