Apart from beautiful outskirts, some downtown areas in Guangzhou have also turned into ‘flower gardens’ lately.
Sea of sunflowers in Haixinsha
The sunflower field near the Canton Tower are found in blossom, becoming a new attraction in the city center.

Known by its name, the sunflower embodies adoration, loyalty and longevity. Usually, it blooms during July and August. But there are different flower seasons given the sowing date.

You can take a walk along the street where you can also see the landmark logo of Guangzhou. If you happen to come at night, you can take a nice picture with the luminous logo and Canton Tower together.

There are also many other wild flowers along the way, some of which also have a magic healing power from the nature.

How to get there: Take Metro Line APM, and get off at Haixinsha Station (use exit A)
Sea of calliopsis in Haizhu Wetland
Covering an area of 16,000 square meters, the calliopsis in the Urban Garden of Haizhu Wetland Phase I is in full blossom with pink, white, and red petals.

Walking along the plank esplanade, you will find yourself immersed in a vast pink sea of flowers.

Open hours: 9:00-17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, closed every Monday (holiday extension).
How to get there:
1.Take No. 14, 45, 206, 250, 252, 264, 270, 762 to Xinjiang Middle Road (Longtan Station), and then walk 100 meters east.
2.Take Metro Line 3 to Datang Station (use Exit B), and then take a bus, taxi or Mobike to the North Gate of Haizhu Wetland Park. The distance is 2 km.
3.Drive your own car or take a taxi with the North Gate of Haizhu National wetland Park as the destination.
The parking space is very limited, so using public transport is highly recommended and is also better for the environment.
