Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen's undying play "Peer Gynt" will be performed at Guangzhou Opera House on October 25th, 2020, featuring a performance by China’s accomplished actor David Wang and the renowned Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO).

David Wang will narrate in Chinese the 22 different roles in the play to help audiences enjoy the music. Talented conductor Zhang Jiemin, famous soprano Cui Zhengrong and the Trout Opera Company will also join the actor and the Orchestra on stage to present a marvelous symphony and play combination.
Henrik Ibsen's epic allegorical verse drama "Peer Gynt" is a fascinating work with wide-ranging scenes. The story is about Peer Gynt's whole life, exploring what is life for and how should people live their lives. Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg was invited to compose for "Peer Gynt", which was a great success on the stage. The composition was later adapted into Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 and 2 for symphony.
