From July 13th, Macao will remove Beijing and Hubei province from the list of the COVID-19 high-risk areas, according to the Information Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Residents of all cities in the mainland will not need to be quarantined for 14 days for medical observation.

Additionally, after consultation between Guangdong and Macao governments, it has been decided that from 6 a.m. on July 15th, people entering Guangdong province from Guangdong-Macao ports will no longer be subject to 14-days of centralized quarantine.

Personnel scope

People entering Guangdong from the Guangdong-Macao ports. Confirmed COVID-19 patients, suspected patients, close contacts and those with fever or respiratory symptoms are excluded. People who have traveled to or from foreign countries or other overseas areas within 14 days before coming to Guangdong are excluded.

Preparation work before entry

1.Go to a qualified testing institution for nucleic acid testing in advance. The testing institution must be recognized and approved by Guangdong and Macao governments.

2.Apply for "Macao Health Code (澳门健康码)" and "Yuekang Code (粤康码)", then complete the customs health declaration in the 24-hour period before entry.

Customs clearance notice

1.Present your “Customs Clearance Certificate (通关凭证)”on the Yuekang Code when entering Guangdong. The Customs Clearance Certificate shall contain a negative nucleic acid testing result issued by a qualified institution within the preceding 7 days. The color of the Customs Clearance Certificate’s QR code is green, which means your nucleic acid result and the customs health declaration are normal. If your Customs Clearance Certificate shows that there is no valid nucleic acid record, a paper certificate of a valid nucleic acid test can be carried.

2.Take your valid identity card or passport for customs clearance.

3.Cooperate with Guangdong and Macao governments in the process of safety inspections. Carry a mobile phone with a mainland number and keep communication open.

4.When the ports are crowded, please avoid rush hours or travel under the guidance of the customs departments.

Management of inbound travelers

1.People from Macao can only enter 9 cities in Guangdong, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing. Macao residents working and living in Guangdong or mainland residents who return to Guangdong from Macao can enter all cities in the province.

2.Inbound travelers must log in Yuekang Code every day within 14 days after the entry and click the "Hong Kong and Macao Immigrants Health Declaration" section to declare personal health status. Those who have a fixed residence or a steady job in Guangdong should report to the local community neighborhood committee in a timely manner after arrival, reduce outings and gatherings within 14 days. People staying in hotels (including apartment hotels) should declare personal health condition to the hotel.

3.If inbound travelers feel fever, cough, fatigue or other discomforts, please go to the designated hospital for treatment immediately and report to the local community committee.

For illegal inbound travelers

If inbound travelers cross the border into other areas or violate relevant regulations, the exemption from 14-days quarantine will be canceled. They will be classified and punished according to the corresponding regulations from two governments.
